A tea caddy / jar lid made by Meissen in the 18th century - pre 1740. It's a very early lid that is hand painted with a Chinoiserie type design in the manner of Johann Ehrenfried Stadler with a nice floral finial including a flower bud and two leaves connected with a stem.
The scene has a little Asian figure near a table with some Indian (Indianische Blumen) type flowers to either side. The lid is in perfect condition!Unmarked which is typical for lids but there is not doubt it is by Meissen from the 18th century. The quality gives it away easily.
The piece 1.25 inches tall and 1.625 inches in diameter. The inner diameter of the inside that would sit on top of the opening is a bit under 1.375 inches.
