Rare Meissen Hand Painted Tea Caddy Jar circa 1930 s. No flaws First grade/quality factory mark. When examining Meissen sword marks if it has a strike though the bottom half of the sward one or more these are factory seconds. This piece in a first quality graded condition. One puzzling issue there is a foil Meissen tag inside the tea caddy, have no idea why.

Early Porcelain Hand painted Caddy, with lovely flowers and with gold rim. Arched top and domed lid with finial. 6 to the top of finial. Base 2" deep 3" wide.

Marked in the bottom Meissen Blue Sword Mark and numbered on base. I presume the mark is for Meissen 1930s, but please look at photos provided for your own opinion, sometime that marks appeared on earlier Meissen porcelain. Called white gold because of its high price, rarity and desirability, Meissen porcelain has been considered the finest by European aristocracy as well as decorative arts connoisseurs for 250 years.

Today, these rare, intricate pieces from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries are particularly in demand. I always inspect items in detail and list any major faults such as cracks & chips in the description.

You should expect some age-related signs of wear such as very small fine surface scratches/marks. Also many of the items are handmade, they may have small imperfections and often tool marks from where they have been shaped and worked in the manufacturing process. These are not usually seen by collectors as faults or damage, but as part of the character of handmade and vintage collecting.
