Porcelaine De Paris Chinese Export Style Hand Painted Armorial Tea Caddy Nice porcelain tea caddy. Decorated in the Chinese Export style with hand painted armorial crest on the front with a knife's helmet above, and a bird on either side holding a blue ribbon with the word Sperabo.

Has hand painted pink and red roses and purple flowers. With raised white enamel flowers and scrollwork and gold highlights.

This has a red pseudo Asian mark on the base. This mark is commonly believed to have been used by Edme Samson, but was actually used by the company Porcelaine De Paris between 1949 and 1980. According to the book Samson, Genie de L'imitation by Florence Slitine, 2002, on page 182, these red pseudo-Chinese marks were not used by Samson, according to an M.

Garcia who was the last house decorator for Samson. The book also states that these marks were used by the company Porcelaine de Paris according to a decorator, Mme. Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks. Measures approximately 3 1/8 inches wide x 5 inches tall including the lid.
