Uncommon Antique Minton Porcelain Tea Caddy Designed By Christopher Dresser

  
Here is an unusual late 19th century / early 20th century Mintons tea caddy and cover in the form of a tea parcel/package. It is on a white glazed ground hand painted to each panel with various English flowers (roses, panisies, snowdrowps etc) and gilt string decoration on gilt lined ball feet. Designed by Christopher Dresser who trained as a botanist so you can see where the insperation of the decoration comes from. Marked to the underside with a puce MINTONS ENGLAND backstamp.

There are also some impressed marks that are a little hard to read. SIZE : The tea caddy measures 10.5 cm high and 10 cm at widest point.

Weighs 365 g before packing. CONDITION : There is a very minor nick to the underside of the lid of the tea caddy.

(please see photo 11) There is minor gilding ware around the rim of the tea caddy where the lid sits. Otherwise it is in very good condition.
